Woodbury Fire Department To House Fire Trucks In Trail Building

The Woodbury Board Of Aldermen passed two ordinances during 2nd and final reading during Tuesday’s meeting of the Mayor and Board.  Ordinance number 448 which was an ordinance to amend the zoning map of the Town of Woodbury to rezone parcel 48.00 shown on tax map 39J which moves Group A from the R-2 residential zoning district to the C-3 Commericial Zoning District for Osborne Piggly Wiggly Store.  This will allow the development of a vacant lot to be turned into a parking lot for the store. Ordinance number 449 which calls for the allowance of only two fundraising road blocks per month in the Town of Woodbury and amends the existing roadblock ordinance was also approved.  An agreement with Susan Trail to lease a building she owns to house the Woodbury Fire Trucks in was approved contingent on Ms. Trails approval of the drawn up lease.  The lease is a two year lease for the building with an option for another two years if given a notice to want to renew within 90 days of the lease expiring.  The lease would start on January 1st and payments would be due quarterly.
The Food Bank is getting low on food supplies.  The issue was brought up during the meeting while discussing holiday food baskets that are normally given to people in need during the holiday season.  The holiday food basket program is phasing out as attention is turned toward directing needy families to the Emergency Food Bank.  Woodbury Police Chief Kevin Mooneyham suggested that he would meet with various agencies and grocery stores to try to get more awareness and donations to the Food Bank
