WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CSTFRIDAY
WIND CHILL ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM FRIDAY TO NOON CSTSATURDAY
* WHAT…For the Winter Weather Advisory, mixed precipitation. Additional snow accumulations of up to one inch and ice accumulations of around one tenth of an inch. For the Wind Chill Advisory, very cold wind chills expected. Wind chills as low as 10 below zero.
* WHERE…All of Middle Tennessee.
* WHEN…For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 9 AM CST Friday. For the Wind Chill Advisory, from 10 PM Friday to noon CST Saturday.
* IMPACTS…Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. The cold wind chills could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… Slow down and use caution while traveling. Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.
Due to hazardous driving conditions, Cannon County Schools and the Central Office will be closed for the remainder of this week. Additionally, all extracurricular activities and ball games are canceled.
County Executive Greg Mitchell has announced, as of now, the county offices and convenience center will be open Friday.
Due to continued below freezing temperatures and icy conditions, the Town of Woodbury will not run garbage routes this week. They will return to normal days and routes next Tuesday, January 23rd. The Chamber of Commerce has changed the date of the Banquet to Monday January 22nd due to the weather conditions. If anyone missed the call in date, they still have room to spare so please call the Chamber office at 615-563-2222.
