Vet Counseling Readjustment Service Will Be At Legion Post Meeting

The Hilton Stone American Legion Post 279 will host a special presentation by the Vet Center Readjustment Counseling Service at Thursday’s meeting at the Senior Center in Woodbury.  Dinner will be served at 5:45 p.m. and the meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. and is open to all veterans. The Vet Center program was established by Congress in 1979 out of the recognition that a significant number of Vietnam Veterans were still experiencing readjustment problems.  Today over 250 Vet Centers across the United States, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and Guam serve ALL combat veterans and their families.  Services provided include Individual Readjustment Counseling, Group Meetings and Counseling, Military Sexual Trauma Counseling, Bereavement Counseling, Marital and Family Counseling, Employment Counseling and Guidance, Benefits Assistance and Referral, Substance Abuse Information and Referral, Community Education, and Liaison with Community Agencies.  The Vet Center representatives will answer all questions.
