It’s on the road to Baxter as the Cannon County Lionettes meet the Upperman Lady Bees. The Lionettes are once again one game shy of an even District 8-AA record. Tonight would be a huge win for the girls team as they have played well against the top teams in the conference but haven’t been able to get that one big win so far this season against District opponents. A win tonight on the road in a tough place to play would put the Lionettes back in the thick of things heading into the District Tournament. Upperman won the previous meeting by 7 57-50. The Cannon County Lions have the opportunity to finish the month of January undefeated. The Lions are winners of 8 in a row. Cannon was able to escape with a 60-54 win in Woodbury back on January 6th. Cannon watched a big lead go down the drain in that contest and almost gave it to Upperman. The Lions are playing better basketball and once they get out to a big lead are able to maintain those leads at this point.
