Congressman Diane Black: Have Time To Meet With Me This Week
I believe you deserve a representative who shows up and answers your questions. In that spirit, I’m holding public town hall meetings across our district next week. I always look forward to seeing old friends and new faces at these events, and I’d love it if you could make plans to join me. At each town hall meeting, I’ll provide an update on some of the latest developments in Washington, then I’ll open the floor to hear from you.
Public town hall meetings may be far and few in between among most members of Congress, but for me it’s just part of doing my job and staying accountable to the people I serve. Check the schedule below to find the town hall meeting closest to you.

Gas Stolen Right From The Tank
Cannon County Sheriff’s Department took a report recently in reference to vandalism.
Mr. Bobby Hollis stated recently he went out to his truck and couldn’t get it to start. According to the Sheriff’s report, he noticed that the hood was popped open a little. As he investigated the area he found what appeared to be small pieces of wire that had been out on the ground. Mr. Hollis further checked and found that some wires had been cut under the truck near the gas tank and the fuel line in two places. Hollis also advised that all the gas was gone out of the tank which was approximately 8 gallons worth $30. Police are still investigating.
Cannon County Lock-up To Benefit S.A.V.E.
On April 20th Cannon County locals will be locked up for charity. In case you haven’t heard of this type of fundraiser, here is how it works……….
- To have a warrant issued on an individual a $25 minimum donation is needed. The information needed is the person’s name, address and phone number and a reason for the warrant.
(This could be for excessive happiness, failure to keep office organized, always late, etc.
You can get creative with this). The checks for the warrants can be mailed to Cannon County S.A.V.E. PO Box 329 Woodbury TN 37190. (Between 8-5)
- The other way is to be a willing participant. On the day of the 20th you will be escorted to the lock up location at the time of your choice or you can “turn yourself in”. You will sit before a judge that will decide your bail. It is at this point that you can post your own bail by writing a check payable to Cannon County S.A.V.E. or you would need to start calling family, friends & colleagues to commit to donating towards you bail money. Once you have raised the bail you would be released from custody. The people that were kind enough to donate to your release will need to get that money to you as soon as possible. A check can be made payable to Cannon County S.A.V.E.
- For those that were served a warrant, they “will not” be taken into custody. They can make a matching donation to clear their name but it is not enforced.
- We understand that Wednesday is a normal work day for most and if you are unable to take time away from your day to be escorted to the lock-up we have a backup plan. It is possible to have your bail set ahead of time. You would still need to be responsible for raising the bail money to clear your “good” name………
- To the local preachers: Based on the number in your congregation we’ll ask what you think is a realistic amount of bail to be set for your release. An announcement can be made to your congregation that “you will be arrested for (long sermons, excitable preaching, etc.) In order to avoid arrest you need to raise money to pay off the judge.
- For the students at the Cannon County Schools. We need a petition started to have the principal’s arrested. Each student can pay a $1 to add their name to the petition. A student from each school will be needed as a sponsor to maintain the petition and collect the money.
We thank you in advance for helping us raise money to assist with the daily operation of your local domestic violence shelter. We have been able to help so many victims get their lives back and it’s all because of the great kindness this community has given to support us!
Have a Blessed day!!!!!
