Last week’s loss to then number one ranked Upperman dropped the Cannon County Lionettes out of the Associated Press Top 10 Poll. Upperman dropped to third in the new poll out last night after losing to Livingston last week. Livingston moves up into the 2nd spot. Cannon received 14 votes and are on the edge of getting back in. The Lionettes can send a statement tonight when they travel to nearby Smithville to face their rivals in the Dekalb County Tigerettes. Both teams are coming off of breaking two games losing streaks with wins in their last matchups. Cannon defeated Warren County Friday while Dekalb barely got by Central Magnet. This is the last district game of the regular season for Dekalb. The Cannon County Lions still have an outside shot to finish 4th in the 7 team District 8AA but they will have to win the last two district games and get some help from other teams to do so. The Lions have lost three in a row and they will meet a red hot Dekalb County Tiger team set for a first place tie in the district barring an upset tonight. The games will begin at 6:00 in Tiger Country. Our pregame will be at 5:45. You can hear the games live on AM1540 FM 96.7 WBRY and streaming live on WBRY.com
