Mr. Randall Scott “Randy” Bowman, 55, of Woodbury passed away on February 18, 2019. He was born in Murfreesboro, TN and was raised and lived in the Milton community of Rutherford County growing up.
He is survived by his wife, Tina Marie Bowman of Woodbury; parents, James and Peggy Porterfield Bowman of Milton; brothers, Mitchell (Robin) Bowman of Murfreesboro, Mike (Sharon) Bowman, Barry (Wendy) Bowman and Steve Bowman all of Milton; by his favorite cat and sidekick, Boo; and by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
His family and friends called him Randy. People who met him knew right away he never met a stranger. When he entered at room his presence was apparent. He was big hearted, loved life, and loved to make everyone laugh. Raised in Milton he was very close with his parents and brothers. They spent a lot of time on their family home place. He was raised in the Church of Christ. He and Tina met when they were young. They were together over 27 years and married for 20 of those years. He was a hard worker and he got a job with Heritage Farms in Murfreesboro when he was 17, right after they opened. He spent 30 years working there and could do any job in the plant.
In his spare time, he loved to work on cars, do yard work, vegetable and flower gardening. He wasn’t one to be idle. He and Tina enjoyed taking rides together on motorcycles and going on vacations together. She loved the beach and he loved the snow and would go skiing. He would make sure to spoil her by seeing she got to go to the beach whenever they could. He loved animals and just being out in nature.
Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 11-2 pm. Funeral services will follow in the Smith Funeral Home chapel at 2 pm. Rev. John Hembree will officiate. Interment will be in Milton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to the Diabetes Association to help fight the terrible disease he had to endure.
