The Tennessee Department of Health has recently confirmed a diagnosis of rabies in Dekalb, Cannon and Wilson Counties
Rabies vaccination is the best protection against rabies in household pets. Vaccination of dogs and cats is required by Tennessee law. Having pets vaccinated against rabies helps protect people from rabies, too.
Many Tennessee health departments work with local veterinarians to provide low-cost rabies vaccination clinics at this time of year. Rabies Clinics in Cannon County will be offered by two local veternarians Dr. Gayle Tate and Dr Lewanda Lance Jordan throughout the month on Saturday’s in April beginning on April 9th. The cost is only $8.00 cash or check per animal for one year. The clinics will also take place April 16th and 23rd. After clinic dates the two veternarians will honor the $8.00 per animal price all during the month of April.
