The Cannon County Lions boys basketball team can claim sole possession of first place in District 8-AA with a win tonight. The opponent standing in their way of that claim however is the Livingston Wildcats. Add to that fact that the game is in Livingston, the Wildcats know what’s on the line as well. Livingston hardly ever loses on their home court but of their four losses this year, only one has been at the Hog-eye. This game has the makings of one of the best regular season games of the year and more than likely these two teams will cross paths several more times before the season is done. There’s a logjam at the top of the district for the girls and unfortunately the Cannon County Lionettes are not involved. However it’s a long way to go before a season district champion is crowd.
