The builders are moving right along with our newly remodeled library! They are also getting closer to completing our new parking lot. We hope everything will be in place by about the first of the year.
The library system has a new automation system now, too. Thanks to all of you for your patience as we learn the different new aspects of what this system has to offer. You can now see the new computerized library catalog when you log into our webpage at www.cannoncolibrary.org. Then just click on “library catalog”. From there you can access your own library account by putting in the barcode number from the back of your library card and putting in the word “userpass” as the password. You will then be prompted to put in a new password of your own choosing. You can do a lot from your account, so feel free to explore. Right now if you should forget your new password, we cannot send it to you via email as the system says, but we encourage you to call either library so that we can reset your password. As time goes by we will be switching more and more to email notices where patrons choose to have them sent.
We are also becoming a part of a consortium with many other Tennessee libraries which will make sharing materials much easier. Around the first of the year, you will be able to browse the holdings of many of these libraries and request them yourself. There will be a courier service going around the state with deliveries twice per week. This will be a substantial postage savings for us.
