The last two state tournament appearances the Cannon County Lionettes have made could have very well seen their opponent tonight on the other side of the court in the State Championship game. The Macon County Lady Tigers state runner up in two out of the last three State tournaments come into Woodbury tonight as the school rejoins the district for the first time since the 2009-2010 sports season. The Lady Tigers however are 1-3 and although the Lionettes can’t afford to overlook any district opponent especially this season, Macon County is rebuilding their girls basketball team. Cannon County is off to a 7-0 start behind Madison Walkup and Abbey Sissom. The boys matchup features the Cannon County team that fell to Middle Tennessee Christian School Saturday evening. The Lions will get a chance to respond to that loss with a matchup against the Tigers. The Tigers are 1-2 with losses to Riverdale and Westmoreland on their resume this year.
