The Cannon County Lions and Lionettes are now 2-0 after both basketball teams handed Marion County losses Saturday night. In the girls game, Abbey Sissom led the way with 25 points, while Rebekah Faulkner scored 15 as the Cannon County Lionettes who led 56-15 at halftime ended up with a 79-25 win over the Lady Warriors. Abby Jakes added 12 to finish out the double digit scoring by the Lionettes. The Lions got out to another fast start and after leading at halftime 46-15 in their contest against the Warriors, finished them off 79-37. Cory Henley led another balanced scoring effort with 15 while Tanner Larson pounded in 11 points in the post. Tonight the Cannon County Ball teams will host Coffee County from nearby Manchester. Coffee County girls come into tonight’s game 1-1 while the boys team is winless at 0-2. Game time will start at 6:00 tonight. WBRY will have the live broadcast with the Coaches Corner at 5:45.
