The Cannon County Lionettes punched in their ticket to Murfreesboro for the third consecutive year in a row as the Lionettes hosted a rematch of their last sectional game. The opponent Sequoyah Lady Indians. All five Cannon County starters scored in double figures as the Lionettes couldn’t put their opponents away. Sequoyah down by 7 with a couple minutes left started sending Cannon to the free throw line. Cannon would knock down the free throws but the Lady Indians started hitting three pointers to close the gap to 4. The clock was not on the side of the team from Madisonville as Cannon ran down the clock and won 62-60. Kristen Hale scored 14 to lead the team. Autumn King had 13. The Lionettes will next play in the Glass House at MTSU in Murfreesboro Thursday night at 5:15 against Martin Luther King who shocked previously unbeaten CPA 46-43.
