Mr. Joel Carson “Bubba” Youngblood, 42, of Woodbury passed away after a brief illness. He was born in Smithville, TN on July 22, 1976 but had lived in Woodbury most of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joel Ross Youngblood and Dovie Dean Cook Youngblood; also, by his wife, Teresa Youngblood.He is survived by his sisters, Wendy (Jeff Clayton) Whittemore of Woodbury, Deana (Jeff) Lorance of Woodbury, and Renee Hart of Illinois; two nieces, seven nephews, five great nieces, and seven great nephews and a special friend Cindy Barrett.
Mr. Joel loved being around kids and loved his nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He liked to kid around with them and aggravate them. He enjoyed going fishing and sitting by a campfire. He liked listening to country music. His favorite song recently was Kenny Chesney, It’s Gonna Be Alright. He loved dogs and would lay on the couch with his dog Rocky. He carried on the family tradition of being an Atlanta Braves fan. He was baptized in the Church of Christ. He was a simple man, who wasn’t hard to please. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years installing fiber optic cables.
Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Sunday, November 25, 2018 from 4-8 pm. A graveside service will be held at Blue Wing Cemetery on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 11 am.
