James R. Eason, age 74 of Woodbury, Tennessee, died Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at St. Thomas Rutherford. He was a native of Hogansville, Georgia and was a son of the late James Edward Eason and Jeanette Wallace Eason. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by sisters, Cathy Yates, and Patricia Hogan.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Marilynn Eason; a daughter, Amber Gilpatrick and husband Robby; a grandson, Devin Gilpatrick, all of Readyville, Tennessee; sisters in law, Karen Westbury and husband Ron and Cheryl Noble, all of Eatonton, Georgia; and several nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
James attended Mt. Paran Church in Atlanta many years and most recently World Outreach Church. Following many years with Johnson Controls, he retired from Broadwater Controls of Atlanta after forty-one years as a Journeyman electrician in Local 613 Electrical Union in Atlanta. He adored his grandson Devin, and was an avid college football fan, always rooting for his beloved Georgia Bulldogs.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 9:30 until 10:30 am at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, Murfreesboro. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 am in the Riverside Cemetery, Woodbury with Reverend Dr. Ron Westbury officiating.
