Franz Walkup, who was seriously wounded while serving in Afghanistan was scheduled to make an appearance and participate in the Cannon County Veterans Program and parade but was unable to due to recovery from a surgery he had a couple weeks before the event. Franz did make it back to Woodbury for a brief visit to Cannon County High School last week. Since November is dedicated to remembering and honoring veterans, the Cannon County community blood drive Thursday will be dedicated to the honor of Sgt Walkup. The blood drive will take place at the Woodbury Lions Club Building located at the corner of West Lehman Street and West Adams tomorrow with the drive starting an hour earlier than normal from 11A to 6P.
