George Clyde “Jack” Knox, 95, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at St. Thomas Stones River. He was a native of Cannon Co.
Mr. Knox is survived by his daughter-in-law, Holly Knox of Murfreesboro; children, Cheryl (David) Franklin of Bradyville and Forrest (Nichi) Knox of Mt. Juliet; grandchildren, Jason (Shannon) Franklin, Rachel Franklin Kelly, Jared Franklin, Mark (Diana) Franklin, Camille Knox (Charlie Sanders), Alexandra Knox, Portia (Jordan) Beaird, Robert David Knox and Elijah Douglas Knox; great grandchildren, Jacob (Morgan) Franklin, Hailey (Alex) Branson, Michael and Joshua Kelly, Lucy, Isaiah, Samuel and Zelie Franklin; great great grandson, Oliver Jack Franklin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Forrest Knox and Tina Bell Graham Knox; his wife, Naomi Bynum Knox; his sons, Darrell Knox and David Knox and his brother, Carl Knox.
A member of the Rock Hill church of Christ, Jack was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in WWII. He was retired from TN. Dept. of Forestry. He also was a truck driver, school bus driver and carpenter. Mr. Knox was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling.
Funeral services will be 2:30 pm Sunday, September 4, 2022 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Thyatira cemetery. Grandsons and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation with his family will be Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
