Edna Sue Goff Blanton

Edna Sue Goff Blanton, 90, passed away Monday, May 30, 2022 at Brookedale Assisted Living in Tullahoma.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth Doyle (Nancy) Blanton of Chelsea, MI and Connie Sue Leanza; grandchildren, Sara Blanton Kroll (Matt), Jenna Blanton Rahmel (Adam), Jennifer Leanza McCullar (Ryan) and Craig Leanza; great grandchildren, Quin Blanton Kroll and Francis Blanton Kroll; siblings, Savage (Marella) Goff of Dearborn, MI., Betty Barrow of Chattanooga, John Goff of Gainsboro, Bill (Pat) Goff of McMinnville, Phyllis Rackley of Bradyville, Harold (Sylvia) Goff of Dearborn, Gary (Connie) Goff of Canton, MI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Savage Goff and Verda Turner Goff; her husband, Mershal Doyle Blanton; son-in-law, Thomas Michael Leanza and siblings, Lonnie Goff and Mahavel Jo Fudalla. 

Ms. Blanton was born in Centertown and married her husband, Mershal.  Like many others, they moved to MI. in 1948 for work.  A homemaker, she was always active in her children’s childhood community.  They relocated to Woodbury in 1979 and she helped her sister-in-law, Polly Wilcher, at the Stock Barn.  Mr. & Mrs. Blanton enjoyed traveling back and forth to MI to visit their grandchildren.  She especially loved to visit during the apple orchard season.  Ms. Sue was a faithful member of the Woodbury church of Christ.  She enjoyed talking on the phone to her friends and family always checking on everyone. 

Visitation with her family will begin at 10 am Saturday, June 4, 2022.  Funeral services will follow at 12 noon in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Herb Alsup officiating.  Interment will follow in Blues Hill Cemetery in Warren Co.
