Ms. Gay Burger a 6-8 arts teacher at East Side School has been chosen Teacher of the Year in the Upper Cumberland Region The Teacher of the Year program recognizes and honor outstanding teachers in Tennessee. The state of Tennessee applauds teachers who care about children, who devote their professional lives to enriching the lives of Tennessee children and who demonstrate exceptional gains in student achievement. Goals of the program are: Promote effective teaching practices by recognizing and rewarding outstanding teachers.
