Donald Earl Walterhouse, 90, of Woodbury passed away Sat., January 04, 2020 at the Tn. State Veteran’s Home. He was a native of Bucyrus, OH.
He is survived by his children, Becky (Chuck) Howell of Custard, S.D., Floyd (Sandra) Walterhouse of Chattanooga, Audrey Woods of Portland, OR., Donna Podesta (Fernado Guerrero) of Murfreesboro and Rick Beaty of Nashville; 8 grandchildren, Renee Finley, Keith Howe, Erin Wilkins, Jill Blake, Angel Martin, Randy Woods, Sharley Massman and David Woods and brother, Ronald Parsel of Dayton, OH. Also surviving are 17 great grandchildren.
Mr. Walterhouse was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald Russell and Florence evelyn McKnight Walterhouse; his wife, Nancy Purcell Walterhouse; his 3 brothers and his sister.
A veteran of the Korean War serving in the Army, Mr. Walterhouse earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Emmanuel Missionary College in Barren Springs, MI. Don and his family came to TN in 1965 when he joined Hall, Davidson and Assoc as an accountant until his retirement. He was a member of the Woodbury Lions Club and Seventh Day Adventist church of Murfreesboro. He enjoyed woodworking and cooking.
Funeral Services will be 11 am, Fri., Jan. 10, 2020 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Perry Loudon officiating. Military honors will follow at Amity Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 4 pm – 8 pm Thursday, Jan. 09, 2020 and Friday until time of service.
