Clark Rains

Clark Rains, 93, passed away Tues, May 24, 2022 at Woodbury Health & Rehab.  He was born in Cannon Co., TN.

He is survived by his children, Jackie (Connie) Rains of Murfreesboro, Linda (Billy) Lance of Morrison and Teddy (Brenda) Rains of Bradyville; stepchildren, Gary (Tammy) Nichols of Woodbury and Mike (Shantay) Nichols of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Lewanda (David) Jordan, Lindsay (Benji) Locke, Erin (Kevin) Moore, Nathan (Stacie Dunn) Rains; great grandchildren, Wyatt & Josey Locke, Ryder Jordan, Jack, Bennett and Ella Marie Moore and siblings, Roy Rains and Cora Jean Duke both of Bradyville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer & Bertha Sadler Rains; his wives, Carlene Prater Rains of 53 years and Frances Nichols Rains of 13 years; brother, Ray Rains and sister, Thelma Rains.

Mr. Rains was a member of the Woodbury church of Christ and was a veteran of the Korean war where he served in the Army.  He earned several prestigious medals including the purple heart and 3 bronze stars.  Clark was one of the oldest surviving veterans of the Korean war in Cannon Co.  He retired from Alvin C. York Hospital and was a farmer.  He enjoyed being a cattle farmer and making walking sticks. 

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday, May 27, 2022 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Boggess and Bro. Al Bugg officiating.  Interment will follow with military honors at Midway Cemetery.  Pallbearers include Johnny Sadler, T.J. Daniel, Jimmy Merriman, Jonathan Hall, Ricky Foster and Denton Parker.
 
Visitation with his family will be Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 4 pm until 9 pm.
