Catherine Gannon Hutchinson, age 91, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Jan 31, 2022. Catherine was born in Woodbury, TN (Cannon, Co.) on June 3, 1930 to Howard and Emiline Bogle Gannon.
Catherine lived a rich and full life and was loved by all who knew her. She retired from American General Insurance Company in 2001. She was a master seamstress, and over the years sewed and smocked special clothing for her siblings, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was the family historian, and spent many hours researching in the downtown library and state archives long before the internet was available. Catherine was a long standing member of Tusculum Church of Christ for 40 years.
Survivors include daughters Diane Lewis and Darlene (Trigg) Wilkes, grandchildren: Jennifer HInterman, Christopher Lewis and Karime Binkley, great grandchildren: Vince and Emerson Hinterman, Christopher, Lindsay and Gia Lewis, beloved sister: Myla Gannon Close, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Catherine was preceded in death by her four brothers and one sister, George Franklin Gannon, Howard Gannon, Jr, Wille Gannon, Gerald Gannon and Carol Gannon.
Visitation will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville on Wednesday, February 2 from 4:00-8:00 PM, and there will be a private graveside service on Thursday, February 3 at 11:00. Pallbearers: Christopher Lewis, Sr, Christopher Lewis, Jr, Vince Hinterman, Trigg Wilkes, Wesley Ligon, Mike Gannon, Levi Gannon and Keith Gannon.
