Joseph Donavon “Don” Smith, Sr., 76, of Woodbury passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019 at his home. He was born in Muncie, IN. to his parents, the late William Fred Smith and Lillian Herndon Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Phyllis Laws Smith of Woodbury; children, Joseph “Joey” Donavon (Marsha) Smith, Jr. of Woodbury, Katie (Tony) Love of Murfreesboro, Joshua (Vonda) Smith of Manchester; grandchildren, Ashley Steakley, Alexis Melton, Luke Love, Lindsay Smith, Cassie Smith, Connor Smith and Chloe Smith; great grandchildren, Bella Steakley, Anslee Steakley and Bishamon Bowhall; sisters, Yvonne (Rayford) Mahaffa of Morrison, Darlene Powell of Morrison, Debra (Glenn) Davis of Bradyville, Freda (Joe) Scott of Rock Island, Jennie Smith of Woodbury and Dawn (John) Pedigo of Rock Island.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his stepmother, Margaret Dunlap Smith; grandson, Adam Love; brother, Jerry Wayne Smith and brother-in-law, Danny Powell.
Mr. Smith was a member of the Pleasant View Church of Christ and was retired from Nissan. He enjoyed being outdoors coon hunting, rabbit hunting and fishing.
Graveside services will be 2 pm Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Cherry Cemetery with Bro. Jerry Gilley officiating. Pallbearers include Ryan Powell, Connor Smith, Andy Davis, Luke Love, Paul Adams and Daniel Watson. Visitation with the family will be from 4 pm to 8 pm Monday, June 17, 2019 and Tuesday from 11 am until time of graveside service.

Connie Gale Dodd, age 57, of Woodbury passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019 at St. Thomas West Hospital. She was a native of Dekalb Co.
Survivors include her son, Cory Allen Chapman of Woodbury; Granddaughters, Morgan Hale & Kayleigh Chapman; Sisters, Rosa Nokes of Liberty, Paulette (Steven) Osment of Woodbury, & Kendall (Mark) Duggin of Auburntown; Nieces & Nephews, Ricky Nokes, Tracy (Terry) Hill, Brent, Brian, & Katelyn Duggin, Kenny (Jazmin) Fults, Chloe Hill, Keauna Nokes, & Lucas Byford.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth & Loretta Morris Dodd; Daughter, Candace Dodd; and Grandsons, Klayton Chapman & Kolton Chapman.
Connie was a member of the Gassaway Church of Christ and enjoyed spending her time with her grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 2 PM Sunday, June 16, 2019 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Hancock officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Aarat Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 3 to 8 PM Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the funeral home.

Samuel Wayne Smith
Mr. Samuel Wayne “Sammy” Smith, 56, of Woodbury passed away on June 9, 2019 after an extended illness. He was born on October 29, 1962 in Woodbury, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harris Ralph Smith and Barbara Alice Higgins Smith and by a sister, Teresa Pelsue.
He is survived by his wife Janice Beshearse Smith of Woodbury; daughter, Jennifer Smith of Woodbury; brothers, Robert Smith, Ronnie Smith, Jeffery Smith, and Michael (Sharon) Smith all of Woodbury; sisters, Jannie (Randy) Durham of Readyville, Pat Maxwell of Murfreesboro, Marie (Ray) Ferrell of Lebanon and by a close friend, Larry Grizzle.
His family and friends called him Sammy. He was a family person who loved spending time with them. He met his future wife and they have been together over 37 years. They enjoyed going on rides through the country, going to the Smokies for the Rod Run, or any car show. One of his favorite hobbies was working on classic cars like his GTO. He worked most of his life hanging dry wall until his health began to fail. Janice and other family and friends took time to come and be with him and offer what ever support they could. He was a member of the Midland Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Monday, June 10, 2019 from 5-8 pm and Tuesday, June 11, 2019 from 11-1:30 pm. Graveside services will be Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 2 pm in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Jim Jones will officiate. Henry Wallace Bryan
Henry Wallace Bryan, 73, passed away Thursday, June 06, 2019 at Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro. He was born in Wilson Co to his parents, the late Henry Neil Bryan and Thelma Bullard Bryan.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol Jennings Bryan of Woodbury; children, Christopher Bryan and Candace (Kevin) Prater all of Woodbury; grandchildren, Caitlyn, Caleb (Samantha), Sadie, Anna and Ella; great granddaughter, Brynlee; siblings, Wanda (Bobby) Eads of Murfreesboro, Jerry (Beverly) Bryan of Auburntown, Deani (Marvin) Farless of Murfreesboro; mother-in-law, Macon Jennings of Woodbury; in-laws, Charlie (Kaye) Jennings and Violet (Freddy) Barrett both of Woodbury, Sharon (Mike) Driver of McMinnville and Craig Jennings.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant brother, Billy Bryan.
Wallace was a member of the church of Christ and worshipped with the Smith Grove Family. He was a driver for M.T. Pharmacy Supply. He loved to travel, was an avid sports fan and was an outdoorsman who loved to be in nature. Wallace was committed to his loving family but above all, his beloved title was simply grandpa.
Memorial visitation with the family will be from 9 am until 11 am Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Woodbury Funeral Home with graveside services to follow in the Odom Cemetery. Bro. Al Bugg will officiate. Per Wallace’s request, no flowers to be sent but for those wishing to do so, donations may be made to Short Mtn. Bible Camp or Smith Grove Youth.

Ruby Keaton King
Ms. Ruby Keaton King, age 107, of Woodbury passed away Monday, June 3, 2019 at Woodbury Health Care Center. She was a native of Cannon Co.
Survivors include her nephews & nieces, David (Gwen) King of Franklin, Mary Hilda (John) Vaughn of Lebanon, Sherry Hughes of Lascassas, Ann Pat (Roy) Fanning of Huntsville, & Carol Lavella of Bradenton, FL. Several great nieces & nephews & a host of friends also survive.
Ms. King was preceded in death by her parents, Willie & Frankie Adamson Keaton; Husband, Seldon King; Son, Winfred King; Sister & Brother-in-law, Nina Keaton King & J. Otis King; Sisters-in-law, Ola King, Nola King, Minnie Lee & Willie Campbell, Jessie & Paul Grizzle; Brothers-in-law, John & Bird King, Grady & Effie Katherine King. She was also preceded in death by several nieces & nephews.
She was a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church where she was active in the choir & Sunday school and was a nurses’ assistant at the Ohio State Hospital in Lima, OH.

Gary Ray Bedwell
Gary Ray Bedwell age 72 of Smithville and a native of Woodbury, passed away Saturday June 1, 2019 at NHC HealthCare in Smithville. He was born June 5, 1946 to his parents, the late Floyd and Margaret Bucey Bedwell.
He was of the Baptist faith and a carnival worker. He is survived by siblings, Ronnie Bedwell of Woodbury, Carol Petry of Murfreesboro and Betty Bynum of Woodbury.
Mr. Bedwell has been cremated and no services are planned.

Patsy Fletcher Parker
Mrs. Patsy Fletcher Parker, 72, of Woodbury passed away on May 29, 2019. She was born in Coffee County, TN on February 11, 1947. She was preceded in death by her parents Hodge Fletcher and Winnie Pearl Bowen Fletcher; her husband, Coy Parker; and daughter, Tracey Todd.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Chandler Todd and Addy Todd of Bradyville; brothers, Jimmy (Vivia Gay) Fletcher of Wartrace, Larry (Priscilla) Fletcher of Fairfield; sister, Blanche (Charlie) Alsup of Lascassas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She went to work at Colonial Shirt Factory at an early age. Shortly after beginning work she met her future husband, Coy. She cut her hand and he took her to the doctor to have it checked and they fell in love. They would have celebrated 55 years of marriage in July. She later worked for Heatcraft and Honeywell as a supervisor. One of her greatest joys in life was spending time with her grandchildren. They lovingly called her Nana. She loved watching their ballgames and looked forward to their annual family vacation to Panama City, Florida. She was a people person and could talk to anyone. She was a member of the Noah’s Fork Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 2 pm in the Smith Funeral Home chapel. Jerry Layne Graham
Jerry Layne Graham age 57 of Smithville, passed away Tuesday night, May 28, 2019 at his residence.
He was born February 9, 1962 to his parents, Jewell Ferrell Graham Knowles and the late Jerry Wayne Graham. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Edward and Fannie Graham; maternal grandparents, Marshall and Josephine Ferrell; aunt, Josephine (Loyd) Hale.
He was a member of the Smithville First Freewill Baptist Church and worked several years with Graham Services.
He is survived by mother, Jewell Graham Knowles of McMinnville; brother, Eddie Wayne Graham of McMinnville; uncles and aunts, Carlon (Melba) Graham of Smithville, Billie Graham of Akron, Ohio, Ann (Phillip) Hawkins of Smithville, Mary (Grover) Parker of Woodbury, Margie (Staco) Luna of McMinnville, Levonia (Glenn) Gill of Dibrell; special friend, Crystal Hale of Smithville.
Funeral services will be 11:AM Saturday, June 1, 2019 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bernard Houk officiating and burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Friday 4:PM until 8:PM and Saturday 9:AM until the time of the service at 11:AM.

Jimmy Wayne Arnold, 63, died: Sunday, May 26, 2019 at his home. He was a resident of Woodbury and was a native of Dekalb County.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years: Pamela Jo Arnold, children, Jason Wayne Arnold and Jessica Hayes both of Woodbury, mother, Juanita Cripps Arnold of Woodbury, 5 Grandchildren: Linsey Arnold, Hannah Jo Foulk, Lacie Arnold, Haylee Foulk and Dakota Hayes all of Woodbury.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harrison Arnold; brothers: Gregory Arnold, Ronnie Arnold & Roger Dale Arnold.
Jimmy was a member of the Baptist Church, a US Army veteran and a member of the American Legion. He was an owner and operator truck driver. His favorite thing was loving his grandchildren.

Charles E. Brown
Mr. Charles E. “Charlie” Brown, 87, of Readyville passed from this life on May 24, 2019. He was born on January 9, 1932. He was the son of George Brown and Willie D. Alexander Brown. He was preceded in death by his father, George Brown; mother, Willie D. Brown, sisters, Lorell Brandon, Betty McBroom, Mary Brown, Margaret Dillard, and Dora Johnson and a brother, George Brown, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory sister, Katherine Ezell of Nashville; brother, Thomas Brown of Nashville; best friend Helen (Leo) Pleitez and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends.
Mr. Charlie was a hard-working farmer. He was a retired veteran of the U S Air Force with 23 years’ service and had also served in the U S Army for a period of time. Following his Air Force retirement, he came back to Readyville and bought his farm in 1963. He worked at the VA Hospital in Murfreesboro for 40 years as a cook. He retired from the VA and continued to farm. He was an active member of the Woodbury Lions Club for many years. He was also a devoted member of the Auburn Hills Church of Christ and the former Water Street Church of Christ.
Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 4-8 pm. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 2 pm in the Smith Funeral Home chapel.
