Jackie Claude Pemberton

Jackie Claude Pemberton, 64, of Woodbury passed away from injuries substained in a auto accident, Friday, October 9, 2020.  He was born in Cannon Co and graduated from Woodbury Central High School.

He is survived by his daughter, Deanna Pemberton; granddaughter, Keely “Reba” Pemberton; fiancé, Suzy “Sam” Mathews; sister, Karen (Randy) Melton;

nieces and nephew, Emily “Emie Brooke” (Derrick) Elgin and Matthew Pemberton; Crystal Black and Britany Palmieri.  
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Clark; brother, Michael Pemberton and nephew, Justin Pemberton.
Jack was a member of the Church of Christ and owner/operator of JMP Land and Cattle Co. If you knew Jack, you knew that he was a real cowboy and he was honored to be named “Legend of the Trail” by SSHBEA. He enjoyed riding horses and spending time with his family.  Jack was the kind of man that would give you the shirt off his back.
Funeral Services will be 6 pm Sunday, October 11, 2020 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home.  Visitation with the family will be Sunday, October 11, 2020 from 1 pm until time of service.  
A private graveside service will be held. Pallbearers include, Matthew Pemberton Derrick Elgin, Michael Matthews, Matthew and Jacob Young and John Blair.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeff Young and Kevin Reese.

Paul Edward Leach

Paul Edward Leach, 83, passed away  Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020 at St. Thomas Rutherford.  A native of Cannon Co., he lived in Auburntown. 

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betsy Dutton Leach of Auburntown; children, Deborah Ruth Leach of Auburntown and Anthony (Paula) Leach of Woodbury; grandchildren, Anna Leach and Allen Leach; sisters-in-law, Joyce Leach and Tammy (Tim) McNatt and brother-in-law, Bobby (Joyce) Dutton. 
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Ruby Tedder Leach and brother, John Allen Leach.
Mr. Leach was a member of the Auburn Baptist Church, Tn. National Guard and was a retired printer at Tn. Farmer’s Co-Op in LaVergne.  After retirement, he enjoyed working on pocket watches. He loved music and was a handy man who could fix just about anything.  
Funeral Services will be 2 pm Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Auburn Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Thomas officiating.  Interment will follow in Donnell Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be Saturday, October 10, 2020 from 11 am until time of service at Auburn Baptist Church.

Eddie Dean Patterson

Centertown Community resident and Warren County, TN native, Eddie Dean Patterson, age 62, was born March 23, 1958 and passed away October 7, 2020 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN following a sudden illness.       

He was a farmer, master mechanic, a member of Woodbury Church of Christ, and the son of Ralph Edward Patterson of Murfreesboro, TN, and the late Gearldean Bratcher Prater.  He was married to Bonnie Sue Hoover Patterson of the Centertown Community on April 25, 1981.  In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by stepfather, Huston “Hootie” Prater; paternal grandparents, Edgar Patterson, and Bertie Mae Blair Hale; maternal grandparents Jacob and Rosie Lee Cope Bratcher; and step-grandfather, Quince Prater. 

In addition to his wife and father, Mr. Patterson is survived by three children, Megan Ferrell of the Centertown Community, Clint Edward (Brenda) Patterson of Clinton, TN and Kaitlin (Thomas) Parker of Clearmont, TN; five grandchildren, Grayson Mollinet, Kaydance Ferrell, Cole Edward Patterson, Braylen Ferrell, and Koen Ferrell; brother, Phillip (Bridgett) Prater of the Centertown Community; sister, Patsy Gregory of Murfreesboro, TN; nieces and nephews, Tony Foster, Lori McIntosh, Jason Foster, Amy Brandon, Will Prater, and John Porter Prater; two sisters-in-law, Judy Foster of Woodbury, TN and Pat (Shane) Nichols of Woodbury, TN. A host of aunts and uncles also survive.     

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2020 in High’s Chapel with Al Bugg officiating. Burial will follow in Ivy Bluff Cemetery in Warren County, TN. Visitation will be Thursday 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at High’s.

Jerry W. Alviar

Mr. Jerry W. Alviar, 62, of Woodbury passed away on October 3, 2020.  He was born on January 26, 1958 in Aurora, Illinois.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Francis Morin and Laurine Katherine Wold.

He is survived by his wife, Kelly Alviar, two daughters, Megan Alviar and Emily Alviar, three brothers, Pancho Alviar, Jesse Alviar, and Leonard Morin, a sister, Caroleen Wierbicki and a lot of good friends.

He grew up in the Illinois and Wisconsin area.  After high school he joined the Army.  He and Kelly met after his time in the Army and later moved to Woodbury.  He worked for himself doing auto body repair and paint.  In his spare-time he liked to hang out with friends, tell stories, and have a good time.  He loved being outdoors, going fishing, and hunting.  He liked to watch is favorite football team the Green Bay Packers and any kind of western movie.  Whenever a friend needed help, he would do his best.

Dorothy Bell Keaton Womack

Ms. Dorothy Bell Keaton Womack, age 94, of Woodbury passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020 at her home.  She was a native of Wilson Co.

Survivors include her children, Julia Eva (Jerry) Parsley, Mildred Ferrell, John Wiley, Jr. (Patricia) Womack, Margaret (Thomas) Melton, Ricky Womack, & Billy Womack all of Woodbury; 23 Grandchildren and 2 that she raised, Joe Womack & Ivy (Josh) Weimer; 42 Great Grandchildren & 32 Great Great Grandchildren; Son-in-law, Mike Sellars of Manchester; Sister-in-law, Nora Mai Keaton of Woodbury; and Brother-in-law, Marvin Baumgartner of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Jon Wiley Womack I; Daughter, Dorothy Jean Sellars; Parents, Houston Flint & Geneva Keaton; Sister, Murlene Baumgartner; Brother, John Earl Keaton; Son-in-law, J.M. Ferrell; and infant grandsons, David Grant Womack, Bobby Lee, Jr., & Thomas Matthew Melton.

Mrs. Dorothy was retired from Colonial Corporation & was a housewife.  She was a member of the Woodbury Church of Christ.  She loved working in her flowers, reading the Bible, her church, and spending time with her family.

Funeral Services will be 2 PM Wednesday, October 7, 2020 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Herb Alsup officiating.  Interment will follow at Riverside Gardens Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be from 4 PM to 8 PM Tuesday, October 6, 2020.

Tammy May Davenport

Tammy May Davenport age 52 of the Short Mountain Community, passed away Sunday at the St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro.

She was born July 30, 1968 to her parents, the late George Emory and Minnie Louise Estes Taylor.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Davenport.

She worked in nursery and was a Pentecostal.

She is survived by 3 brothers, Russell Taylor, Bobby Taylor and Randall Taylor; 2 sisters, Brenda Barrett and Georgene (Jeffery) Grisham all of the Short Mountain Community; 3 nieces also survive.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:PM Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Melton Cemetery at Half Acre.  There will be no visitation or services at the funeral home.  Family and friends will meet at the cemetery for the graveside service at 2:PM.

Donna Mae Bush Taylor

Donna Mae (Bush) Taylor, age 92, passed peacefully from this life to her Heavenly Home Friday, October 2, 2020.

Survivors include her six children: Bonnie (Ricky) Estes, Eddie (Jackie) Taylor, Jerry (Judy) Taylor, Wanda (Lynn) Jones, Teddy (Cindy) Taylor, and Bruce Taylor all of Cannon County.

Siblings, Imogene Rogers, Les Bush, Daphne Miller, Linda Avera, and Georgia Prater.

She was preceded in death by: Her husband of 53 years, Norville Taylor, Parents: George and Millie Bush Siblings: Jesse Bush, J.T. Bush, Joyce McBride, Twila Underwood, Thelma Kennedy, Bobby Bush, and Gail Bush. Grandson: Steve Taylor.

“Ma” lived her life serving her Lord, loving her family and friends, and caring for dozens of children that she loved as her own. Although we grieve her passing, we celebrate a

life well lived and cherish the memories made that will carry us through.

Paul Hilton Ferrell

Paul Hilton Ferrell, 78, passed away  Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020 at St. Thomas Dekalb E/R.  He was a native of Cannon Co. 

He is survived by his daughter, Viva Johnson of Smithville; grandchildren, Brad and Brandie Johnson, Melissa Johnson and Debra Johnson; 4 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie James and Nanny Mae Jones Ferrell, his wife, Nellie Marie Ferrell and siblings, Jones, Charles W., Billy and Nadine Ferrell.
Mr. Ferrell was a member of the church of Christ and he enjoyed picking a guitar.  He was retired from State of TN with the Forestry dept. and TDOT.
Funeral Services will be 3 pm Sunday, October 4, 2020 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in the Mt. Aarat Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 4 to 8 pm.

Ruby Nell Harrison

Ruby Nell Harrison, age 84, of Readyville passed away September 29, 2020 at her home.  She was a native of Fyfe, Alabama.

Survivors include her children, Randy Davis of California & Wanda Davis (Gary) Reed of Readyville; and Grandchildren, Jason, Jamey, Candice, Chris, Chelsea, Cassie, Wendy, Christy, & Daniel.

Several great grandchildren, nieces, & nephews also survive.

Ms. Harrison was preceded in death by her husband, James Harrison; Daughter, Betty Davis Cox; and Parents, Honest Boyd Wright & Ruthie Boyd Wright.

She was a member of the Curlee church of Christ and was a housewife.

Graveside Services will be 10 AM Friday, October 2, 2020 at Roselawn Cemetery with Bro. James Lively officiating.  Visitation with the family will be from 4 PM to 7 PM Thursday, October 1, 2020.

Samuel Edward Bragg

Samuel Edward Bragg, 80, of Olive Branch, MS went to be with God on Sunday September 27, 2020 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, TN. 

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Bertie Charett Bragg of Olive Branch, MS and her children, Dr. Dannett Babb of FL. and Charett Hamby of Memphis and her 3 grandchildren, Kimberly, Matthew, and Brian and 3 great grandchildren. 

He is also survived by his daughter Natalie Dawn Bragg McNulty of Louisville, KY and her husband, Chris and his 3 grandchildren, Mitchell, Connor and Cole.  He is also survived by his sister, Kathy Vinson of Woodbury and 2 brothers, Bobby Bragg of LaVergne and Jimmy Bragg of Woodbury, as well as many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby Davenport Bragg and Emory Bragg as well as his brother, Richard Bragg.

Ed was a veteran of the US Army and a retired firefighter from the City of Memphis Fire Department where he happily worked for 33 years.  He was a member of the LaBelle Haven Baptist Church.  He was born and raised in Woodbury, TN and moved to Memphis, TN in 1963.  Ed never met a stranger and was loved by so many.  All of his friends said “Big Ed” always had a smile on his face; he was hard working and helped countless people over the years, and was known in his neighborhood as the man who would gladly help with any project – big and small.  He even built his own home with the help of friends, where he lived until his passing this week.  When he wasn’t working, he loved playing golf through the years and was a member of Houston Levee Golf Course.  He loved driving his Ford truck everywhere, especially to the donut shop.  He was a salt of the earth good Christian man with a heart of gold.
