Todd Taggart

Todd Henry Taggart, 62, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at St. Thomas Rutherford.  A native of Middletown, NY., he resided in Bradyville. 
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Zella Roberts Taggart of Bradyville; Mother, Margaret Durland Taggart of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.; Children, Todd Jason Taggart (Suzanne Reed) and Justin Aaron Taggart both of Bradyville; Grandchildren, Jason Cole Taggart and his mother, Lisa Murphy; Nicholas William Taggart, Aaron James Taggart, Kayla Davis (Zack Ambrose) and their mother, Jenny Davis; Great Grandchild, Emma Love Ambrose; Siblings,  Stanley (Denise) Taggart of CA., Scott A. (Stephanie) Taggart, Larry Taggart and Kelly Taggart all of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews
 
He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Taggart; his sister, Rita Rene Water and Sister-in-law, Louise Taggart.
 
Mr. Taggart loved his family and spending time with them.  He liked to hunt but he had rather be fishing.  A member of the Hollow Springs Community Church, he owned his own swimming pool construction business. 
 
Funeral Services will be 2 pm Sunday, March 04, 2018 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Sissom and Bro. Donald Witt officiating.  Interment will follow in the Gilley Hill Cemetery.   Visitation with the family will be from 10 am till 2 pm Sunday, March 04, 2018.

Sara Cook

Sara Emma Stogner Cook, age 91, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Woodbury Health & Rehab.  She was a native of Rockingham, North Carolina.  
Survivors include her sons, Chip (Linda) Cook of Woodbury & Travis (Lola) Cook of Bradyville; Grandchildren, Trey (Whitney) Cook, Nancy Cook, Maggie Cook, Libbie Duncan, & Lucas Barrett; Great Grandchildren, Jacob & Haley Cook; and Siblings, Mattie Hughes, Grady Stogner, Lewis Stogner, Virginia Deese, & Bobby Stogner.
 
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
 
She was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church and retired at the age of 72 from Stones River Hospital as a CNA and the unite secretary.  She was one of the first employees of Stones River Hospital.  In her younger years, she was a fashion model for Belk and Ivey’s.
 
Funeral Services will be 12 Noon Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Cripps & Bro. Jonathan Womack officiating.  Interment will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Woodbury Funeral Home and from 10 AM until time of the service Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the church.

Sam Gaither

Sam William Gaither, 80, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at his home in Rutherford Co. He was a native of Cannon Co.  
He is survived by his children, Donna (Steve) Fuqua and Donnie Gaither both of Woodbury; Daughter-in-law, Ann Gaither of Auburntown; Stepchildren,  Ricky Victory of MS., Chris Victory, Lindy Victory and Cindy Adams all of Murfreesboro; Grandchildren, Chasity Gaither, Jason (Jessica) Fuqua, Clint (Tanya) Gaither, Kandice O’Sullivan, Jessica (Justin) Parker, Marissa Gilley & Regina (Billy) Cairo; Step grandchildren, Kylie, Ashleigh, Kayce, Taylor and Riannon and brother, Terry Gaither.  Also surviving are several great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren also survive.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence “Noony” Gaither and Callie Mae Morgan Gaither; wives, Robby Gaither and Geraldine Gaither; his son, Danny Gaither and his brother, Jimmy Gaither.
 
Sam was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness and was retired from Maintenance at MTSU.  He was a veteran of the Air Force serving from 1954 – 1960.  Sam loved to fish and was a wood crafter.

Clara Ferguson

Clara Opal Young Ferguson, 86, passed away suddenly on February 22, 2018 at Rose Care Group Home.  She was a native of Cannon Co.    
She is survived by her children, Sandra Rueff of Franklin, Carolyn Ferguson of Murfreesboro, Marc Ferguson of LaVergne, Susie Ferguson of Mt. Juliet and Tommy Ferguson of Mt. Juliet. 13 Grandchildren and 22 Great grandchildren also survive.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther & Opal West Young; her husband, Harold Ferguson and Sister, Mae Faircloth.
 
A member of the Church of Christ, Ms. Clara was a loving mother and housewife.

Rustin Means

Rustin James Roy Means, age 38, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018 at his home following an extended illness. He was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and lived in Cannon County.He is survived by his mother and step-father, Barbara Rains Brown and Dan Brown, Sr. of Sequatchie, TN; Father, Russell Means of Wayne, Michigan; 3 Children, Kailee, Thomas, and Daniel Means all of Woodbury; Grandfather, Roy Rains of Woodbury; Half-sister & brother, Brittney Means of Sandusky, Ohio and Brighton Means of Wayne, Michigan; Step-Siblings, Austin Brown of Chattanooga, Ashley Jackson of Sequatchie, Angela Sipos of Auburn, AL, and Dan Brown Jr. of Fort Myers, FL. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Rustin was a member of the Church of Christ and worked in auto sales. His most important accomplishment in his life was caring for his autistic son, Thomas.

Martha Barrett

Martha Ann Thomas Barrett, 81, passed away Fri., February 16, 2018 at her home following an extended illness.  She was a native of Cannon Co., Tn. 
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bobby Barrett of Woodbury; her children, Michael (Beverly) Barrett, Vickie Winfrey and Katrina Haston all of Woodbury; son-in-law, Ray Shipp of Woodbury; grandchildren, Amy (Phillip) Parton, Kevin Shipp, Derek (Allison) Fann, Brooke (Josh) Smith, Angela Barrett, Michael “Noah” Barrett, Austin Pitts, Dalton Pitts, Beth Tate, Brett Trail, Britta (Jonathan) Cantrell and Breka Williams; brother, Terry (Betty) Thomas of Auburntown; sister-in-law, Sue (James) Knox of Woodbury. 16 Great Grandchildren also survive.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Toy & Mary Barrett Thomas; daughters, Janice Shipp and Sharon Fann; son-in-law, Russell Fann; and brothers, Bobby “Sonny” Thomas and Billy Thomas.
 
Martha was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Sugar Tree Knob Church of Christ and was a homemaker. Her greatest joy was helping raise her grandchildren and she loved watching Days of Our Lives.

Kyle Travis

Kyle Hamilton Travis, 39, passed away Thurs., February 15, 2018 at Vanderbilt Hospital.  He was a native of Davidson Co. 
He is survived by his father, John Travis of Murfreesboro; Uncles and Aunts, Robert and Shirley Travis of Murfreesboro and Larry and Debbie Harris of Hendersonville; First Cousins:  Ashley Harris of Nashville and Scott Harris of Nashville.
 
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Harris Travis and his grandparents, John B. and Lucy King Travis, Bragg and Pearl Todd Harris
 
Kyle was formally employed by Wiggs, Haun and Bohan of Nashville as a sales representative.

Joyce Karper

Joyce Barrett Karper, 62, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at her home.  She was a native of Cannon Co. 
She is survived by her husband, Gary Karper of Woodbury; her daughters, Kristy (Jason) Melton and Angela (Scott) Schwartz all of Woodbury; her father; Hoyte Barrett of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Ashlyn (Bryant) Hare, Mikayla Schwartz, Branden Schwartz, Addison Melton, Allie Melton and Mylee Schwartz; great grandchildren,  Wyrn & Ridge Hare and her sister, Elizabeth Bauman of Woodbury..
 
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elene Green Barrett.
 
Joyce was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodbury and was a retired medical assistant and administrative assistant.  She enjoyed being outdoors whether it be lounging in her pool with her family or on the beach.  She loved to sew but enjoyed any type of crafts.

Billy McPeak

Billy Kenneth McPeak, 83, passed away Fri., Feb. 09, 2018 at St. Thomas Rutherford following an extended illness.  He was a native of Dekalb Co., Tn.  
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Linda Pittard McPeak of Woodbury; Children, Kenny McPeak and Johnny McPeak of Woodbury, Cheryl (Chuck) Jones and Tim (Tammy) McPeak all of McMinnville; Brother, Mark Steven McPeak of Kokomo, IN.; 12 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren also survive.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillard Sanders McPeak and Jessie Brown Campbell McPeak; his daughter, Teresa Lynn Mason and his sister, Jo Helen Jones.
 
Billy was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church and was a retired Supervisor from Carrier.  A veteran of the US Army, he enjoyed gardening, wood working, hunting and fishing.  He was a member of the Volunteer Shooters Assoc.
 
Funeral Services will be 2 pm Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Cripps officiating.  Interment will follow in the Leoni Cemetery.  Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.  Visitation with the family will be from 11 am to 9 pm Monday, February 12, 2018.

Douglas Butcher

Mr. Douglas “Doug” Butcher, 73, of McMinnville, TN passed away on February 8, 2018 after an extended illness. He was born on August 4, 1944. He was preceded in death by his parents, Valter Mason Butcher and Elsie Mae Lawson Butcher; brothers, Lee “Jitter” Butcher and Billy Butcher; sisters, Lucille Romans, Betty Jo Burns, Melba Hudson, Linda Ferrell; 2 infant siblings; and a sister-in-law, Linda Butcher.He is survived by his son, Jerry (Diane) Butcher of McMinnville; daughters, Tammy Foutch of McMinnville, Teresa Bailey of Woodbury, Carmella (Mike) Burton of Woodbury, Mechele Mason of Murfreesboro; brothers, Jimmy (Carolyn) Butcher of Woodbury, Waymon Butcher of McMinnville, Gary (Trish) Butcher of McMinnville, Mason (Joyce) Butcher of Big Sandy; sister, Sandy (C) Shelton of McMinnville; thirteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He grew up and spent his whole life in Warren County. He loved to go fishing and camping at Center Hill Lake. He also enjoyed going horse back riding at Short Mountain on the Ride-A-Thon. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Before he became ill he worked for many years with the McMinnville Fire Department and the Warren County Ambulance Service as a paramedic. His German Shepard, Tig, was his special companion.
Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 10am-1pm. Funeral services will follow in the Smith Funeral Home chapel at 1 pm.
