Ms. Margie Faye Bynum Mears, 57, of Woodbury passed away on April 11, 2018. She was born on March 14, 1961 in Woodbury, TN. She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Bynum; sister, Deborah Perry; and step-sons, Glen Grier, Brian Mears, and Kenneth Mears.She is survived by her sons, Christopher Powell James of Murfreesboro and Rodney Joel James of Georgia; daughter, Jennifer Carol (Steven Nelson) Pittard of Tracy City; mother, Betty Bynum of Woodbury; step-son, Jason Mears of New Orleans; step-daughter, Becky Grier of Nashville; brothers, Randy Bynum of Tullahoma, Barry Bynum, Ricky Bynum, Michael (Tracy) Bynum, and David Bynum all of Woodbury; sister, Kathy Thompson of Woodbury; and granddaughter, Gracie Lou Saddler.
She was a loving mother with a big heart who would help anyone. She relaxed by coloring pictures in adult coloring books. She loved being with her family and friends. Her cat, Rascal Flatts and her dog, Jake were a great comfort and companions for her. She was a big fan of Rascal Flatt’s music. She was baptized at Center Hill Baptist Church and had been attending Plainview Baptist Church more recently.
Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 10am-1pm. Memorial services will follow in the Smith Funeral Home chapel at 1 pm. Johnathan Womack will officiate. Hildred Morrow Owen
Hildred Morrow Owen, 95, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at her home.A native of Cherokee, AL., she was the daughter of the late Ollie Monroe Morrow and Janie Deering Morrow.
She is survived by her children, Rebecca Carolyn (John) Smith, Olliver Hall Owen and Gary Leon Owen all of Sycamore and James Taylor (Cheryl) Owen of Smithville; grandchildren, Kimberly (Joey) Boss, Jamie Owen, Jessica Owen, Ashley Owen and Jennifer (Brad) Faulk and 8 great grandchildren also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Boyce Taylor Owen.
Ms. Owen was a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church and a homemaker. She loved to quilt and do crafts.
Funeral Services will be 2 pm Thursday, April 12, 2018 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home
with Bro. David Dodd officiating. Interment will follow in the Sycamore Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be from 11 am until time of the funeral Thursday.
Serving as pallbearers are Joey, Matthew & Luke Boss, Joe Bryson, Ricky Barrett & Eugene Waggoner.

Sandra Gilley
Sandra “Lee” Gilley, 76, of Woodbury passed away on April 6, 2018 after an extended illness. She was born on March 28, 1942 in Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Sam Gilley.She is survived by close friends, George (Maribell) Bragg, III of Old Hickory, Tammy (Charlie) Jones and their daughters, Morgan & Jordan Jones of Woodbury, Wade Davenport of Woodbury and other friends.
Mrs. Lee was a retired Registered Nurse with Alvin York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro. When she retired she had nearly 30 years of service taking care of veterans. She was known to be a top nurse while at the VA and coworkers commented, “she ran a tight ship.” She and her husband had a farm where they raised goats, at one time they had a herd of over 600. Mrs. Lee loved her goats, dogs, and animals in general. People who knew her, knew she was a plain spoken, no nonsense person, but she could cut loose and have a good laugh too. Her health deteriorated in the past few years and friends stepped in to help her, like she had helped so many other people over the years.
Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 from 4:30-6:30 pm. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 1 pm. Bobby Nichols will officiate. In lieu of flowers donations are requested to Cannon County S.A.V.E.

Brent Reed Griffith
Brent Reed Griffith, age 48 of Auburntown, TN, passed away Saturday April 7, 2018. A native of Rutherford County, TN, he was the son of the late Wayne Reed Griffith and Elaine Jones Mingle. Brent was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Sally Griffith and Thomas Earl and Opha Jones.Brent is survived by his wife of 25 years, Cheri Barrett Griffith; son, Tommy Griffith and his fiancé Jeannie Beth Bailey of Auburntown, TN; daughter, Bethany Griffith Bell and her husband Will of Milton, TN; sisters, Holly McCrary and her husband Johnny of Lascassas, TN, and Brooke Mingle Harrell and her husband Corey of Milton, TN; step-father, Jimmy Mingle and his wife Millie of Woodbury, TN; nieces, Hannah and Caitlyn McCrary; nephews, Dawson and Christian McCrary, Oakley Fisher, and Easton Harrell.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be 3:00 PM Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Bro. Ray Patrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Odom Cemetery, Auburntown, TN with Alan Lack, John Powell, Corey Harrell, Johnny McCrary, Jonathan Griffith, and Shane Ross serving as pallbearers.
Brent was a member of the Auburn Baptist Church and a retired truck driver for Roadway Express. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed fishing on the lake.

Bill Terry Alexander
Bill Terry Alexander, age 83, of Murfreesboro passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Alive Hospice of Nashville. He was a native of Cannon Co.Survivors include his children, Jeff (Tina) Alexander of Murfreesboro, Terry (Jerry) Bogle of Woodbury, Becky (Randy) Tilford of Readyville, & Greg Alexander of Readyville; 7 Grandchildren, Dan (Jessica) Alexander, Matt (Rebecca) Alexander, Sarah Alexander, Jennifer (Jeff) Medlin, J.T. (Lindsay) Bogle, Erin (David) Tucker, & Jake Alexander. 12 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas “J.T.” & Martha Sullivan Alexander; and his best friend Pup, the dog, who passed away last Thursday, March 29, 2018.
Mr. Alexander was a member of the church of Christ. After he graduated high school, he attended David Lipscomb University. He was the owner and operator of Alexander Chevrolet. He was also an auto and truck salesman and managed several dealerships. Bill Terry enjoyed life and loved to play golf, fly planes, and sailing on sailboats.
Graveside Services will be 1 PM Monday, April 9, 2018 at Riverside Cemetery with Bro. Billy Henson officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 4 to 8 PM Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Woodbury Funeral Home.

Florene Miller, 87, passed away Tuesday, April 03, 2018 at Woodbury Health and Rehab. She was a native of Cannon Co., Tn.
She is survived by her children, Bobby Miller (Rhonda Hatcher) of McMinnville and June Miller of Murfreesboro; Grandchildren, Leah Timmons, David Miller and Kevin Miller; Great Grandchildren, Jordan Timmons, Anslee & Aiden Miller, Emma & Shelby Miller.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom & Susie Ferrell Merriman; husband, Hobert Miller and 13 siblings.
Ms. Miller was a member of the Short Mtn. Church of God and was a factory worker.
Funeral Services will be 2 pm Friday, April 06, 2018 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Stanton officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 11 am until 8 pm Thursday, April 5, 2018.

Tammy Winetta Lowe
Tammy Winetta Lowe, age 50, passed away Monday, April 2, 2018 at St. Thomas Dekalb Hospital. She was a native of Dekalb County.Survivors include her husband, Charles Lowe; Sister, Beckie Werpecinisky of Smithville; Son, Christopher Leon Lowe of Nashville; and Niece and Nephew, Briley Werpecinisky and Kris Robinson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and JoAnn Kelly Robinson.
Ms. Lowe worked as a bookkeeper in accounting and enjoyed doing artwork, especially painting and photography.
Memorial Graveside Services will be 12 Noon Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Cherry Cemetery.

Marie Bumpas, age 60, of Woodbury passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. She was a native of Madisonville, KY.Survivors include her sisters, Carolene Dunkerson of Milton, Judy Dyer of Murfreesboro, Kay Bumpas, and Faye Bumpas, both of Woodbury; Special Friends, Betty Gilley of Woodbury and Michael, Kim, & Zoe Nichols of Bradyville. Also surviving are 4 nephews, 2 nieces, and 13 great nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Nellie Hughes Bumpas.
Marie was employed as a machine operator at Val Dor for many years and was a member of the New Life Church in Manchester. She enjoyed crocheting and going to gospel singings.

Miles Summers
Mrs. Miles “Do” Manus Summers, 64, of Woodbury passed away on March 31, 2018 after a short illness. She was born in Woodbury, TN on December 29, 1953. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Morgan Manus and Hallie Arine Mears Manus; brothers, James Morgan “Buck” Manus and Billy Joe Manus; sisters, Patsy Fay Manus and Betty Rose Manus.
She is survived by a daughter, Miles Danyell Summers of Woodbury, granddaughters, Christan Heaven McCrory and Jessica Paige McCrory both of Woodbury; great granddaughter, Karinanna Nevaeh McCrory (born March 6, 2018); brothers, Sammy Lee Manus of Woodbury and George Edward (Linda) Manus, Sr. of Bradyville; sisters, Mary Frances “Peggy” Milligan of Antioch, Bertha Mae Manus Pace, Pauline Manus Bowen, all of Woodbury; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mrs. Miles was the youngest of ten children. She graduated from Woodbury Central High School in the Class of 1971. She was a huge Tennessee Titans fan. She loved collecting lady bugs, butterflies, and bird figurines. She loved her family and was looking forward to becoming a Great Grandmother. She loved her dog, Fur Babies. She worked many jobs, but her favorite was Wal-Mart on Old Fort Parkway in Murfreesboro. She worked there for 17 years, from Oct. 2000-Dec. 2017. She had many friends at Wal-Mart and they were like a second family.
Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 2-8 pm and on Tuesday, April 3, from 9-2 pm. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm in the Smith Funeral Home chapel. Mary Williams
Mary Lois Williams, 83, Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at St. Thomas Rutherford. She is survived by her aunt Ruby Smith Barrett of Readyville; First Cousins, Joyce Barrett Tilford of Murfreesboro and Dewey Barrett of Woodbury. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Calvin Mills and Mae Bell Smith Alexander and her husband, Kenneth Wayne Williams.
Ms. Williams was a very faithful Christian woman and loved her church family at Salem Creek Church of Christ. She was employed at Colonial Shirt Factory for 34 years and retired from Ingram books.
Funeral Services will be 4 pm Friday, March 30, 2018 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Joshua Houston officiating. Interment will follow in the Thyatira Cemetery.
