Jimmy Franklin “Groundhog” Goad, 73, of Bradyville was called to his heavenly home on Wed., November 21, 2018 at St. Thomas Rutherford. He was a native of Cannon Co.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judy Merriman Goad of Bradyville; children, Angela (Rob) Lokey of Murfreesboro and Rodney Goad of Mt. Juliet; siblings, Wayne Goad of Watertown, Dean Goad of Murfreesboro, and Ruth (Henry) Toombs of Murfreesboro; sisters-in-law, Jean Parker of Murfreesboro and Joan Vickers of Manchester. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Pauline Dunn Goad.
Mr. Goad was a member of the Elkins Church of Christ and was retired from both GE and MTSU in the Maintenance Dept. He enjoyed his animals, fishing and golfing. He also enjoyed his church family and meeting with the retired group from GE.
Funeral Services will be 2 pm Sunday, November 25, 2018 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Norman Pelham officiating. Interment will follow in the Milton Cemetery with friends and family serving as pallbearers. Visiation with the family will be from 4 pm until 8 pm Saturday, November 24, 2018.

Darrence Carroll Lewis
Darrence Carroll Lewis, 95, passed away Tues., November 20, 2018 at Adams Place. He was a native of Cannon Co., and made his home in Hazel Park, Michigan.
He is survived by nieces, Jan (Gene) Price and Judy (Michael) James all of MI.; great nephews, Joseph Price and Gary James; special cousins, Linda (John) Sadler, Terry (Chassity) Burks and Angie (Kim) Young all of Bradyville. Also surviving are numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen & Lula Spry Lewis and his wife, Margaret (Lassiter) Lewis.
Mr. Lewis was a Veteran of WWII serving in the Army in the 738th Tank Battalion where he was a Commander. He retired twice from Chrysler Corp as a line leader and from the Engineering Dept. After retirement, he enjoyed working with his hands repairing and selling lawn mowers.
Funeral services will be 1 pm, Saturday, November 24, 2018 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Herb Alsup officiating. Entombment with military honors will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, Tullahoma, Tn. Pallbearers include Russell and Terry Burks, John and Chris Sadler, Kim Young and Jamie Spry. Dorothy Mae Cummings Tucker
Dorothy Mae Cummings Tucker, age 87, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018. She was a native of Cannon Co.
Dorothy was born June 30, 1931. She is survived by her loving daughter, Edwina (Robert) Ward & their children, Dustin & Elizabeth Ward and Justin & Emily Ward; her beloved son, David (Anna) Tucker and their children, Shelby (Shawn) York and Willie Love. Also surviving are sisters, Billie Barrett and Shirley (Felson) Young. She had numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins that she dearly loved; and special friends, Elaine Harris and Betty Duke.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac & Lillie Bell Cummings; husband, Edward Tucker; sister, Radene Frazier; nephews, Mark and Anthony Young; niece, Jolene Pemberton; and brother-in-law, Joe Barrett.
Dot was a beautiful soul. She always had a smile for everyone and made sure that you knew she loved you. She was free with compliments, hugs, and kisses. She loved her Lord God Jesus Christ and wanted to tell everyone she was ready to go hug Jesus neck and then go find Edward. She was a member of Sander’s Fork Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, gardener, florist, advise giver, prayer warrior and shoulder for all.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 1:30 PM at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Mitchell & Bro. John Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the private family Tucker Cemetery located on the family farm. Visitation with the family will be Monday, November 19, 2018 from 4 to 8 PM and Tuesday from 1 PM until the time of service.

Hazel Juanita Hollandsworth, age 88, of Woodbury passed away Friday, November 16, 2018 . She was a native of Cannon County.

Annie Marie Mooneyham Bosworth
Annie Marie Mooneyham Bosworth was born August, 20, 1942 and went to her eternal rest November 15, 2018. She passed suddenly at her home after a long illness. Annie was the fourteenth child born to Jesse O. and Maude R. Moody Mooneyham. She was a native of Cannon County and graduated from Central High School class of 1961.
Following High School she attended LPN nursing school and practiced nursing for several years at Good Samaritan Hospital in Woodbury.
She moved to Nashville and lived and worked there for 35 years. She retired from nursing due to failing health and returned with her husband Ray to her beloved Cannon County and home on Jim Cummings hwy.
Annie was a kind and gentle person with a joyful spirit. Who loved the Lord, her home, family, friends, good books, good music, and good food. She was a member of the Church of Christ and attended Woodbury Church of Christ for years until becoming homebound due to illness.
She leaves behind two sisters, Betty (Ralph) Reed & Lovie Phillips, and one brother, Roy Mooneyham. Annie had no children of her own but loved her many nieces and nephews and was especially close to her nieces Vicky and Debbie and nephew Jeff who assisted in her care.
She also leaves behind many friends and caregivers from Adoration Home Health and special friend and caregiver, Shirley Davenport. She will be missed by many other friends and relatives especially her little buddy Noah, her best friend and constant companion her cat Daisy Mae, and cousin Racine who’s visit she always enjoyed.
In addition to her parents, Annie was preceded in death by her husband Ray Bosworth; seven brothers Charley, Jim, Jessie, Mack, Frank, John and Buddy; four sisters Mary, Matt, Janie, Becky; and nephew Steve Reed.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, November 18, 2018 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Al Bugg officiating. Interment will follow at Prater Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 4 to 8 PM Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the funeral home.

Michael Franklin Davenport (Mikey D), age 57, of Woodbury passed away Friday, November 16, 2018 at his home. He was a native of Cannon County.
Survivors include his parents, Buddy & Nancy Young Davenport of Woodbury; 3 Children, Travis Davenport of Smithville, Haleigh Davenport of Centertown, and Justin Davenport of Denver, Colorado; Sister, Kathy Davenport of Murfreesboro; 2 Grandchildren, Olivia Davenport and Emily Davenport. He is also survived by many other close family and friends.
Mikey D was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church and was an employee for the City of Woodbury.

Caroline N. Hamilton, 77, passed away Monday, November 12, 2018 at Woodbury Health and Rehab. She was a native of Cannon County.
She is survived by cousins, Judy Gannon, Wanda Gunter, Joan Ferrell, Linda Gunter and Courtney Frazee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Nellie Underwood Vassar, sister Leoma Vassar, brother Perry Vassar JR.
Caroline was retired from Heat Craft and Emerson.

Juston Homer Gilley, 72, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Saint Thomas Midtown. He was a native of Cannon County, TN.
He is survived by his wife Margie Cooper Gilley; daughter Chasity (Joshua) Davis of Murfreesboro; granddaughters Stephanie Blair and Molly Davis of Murfreesboro; sister Peggy Gilley; Brothers Kerry (Chester) Gilley, and Donnie Gilley.
Juston was retired from Yates Nissan.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday, November 17, 2018 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Gilley Hill Cemetery.

Phillip Ray Knox
Phillip Ray Knox, age 64, of Woodbury passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018. He was a native of Rutherford County TN.Survivors include brother Robert (Kim) Knox of Readyville and sister Joyce (Curtis) McMinn of Alabama. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Roberta Lassister Knox.
Phillip was a truck driver.

Jessica Whitworth Stephens
Ms. Jessica Whitworth Stephens, 28, passed away unexpectedly on November 12, 2018. She was born in Murfreesboro, TN on March 30, 1990 but had spent most of her life in Woodbury.
She is survived by her father, Harold L. Whitworth of Woodbury and his special friend, Debbie Butrum of Murfreesboro; daughters, Khloey Stephens and her father, Zach Stephens of Lebanon, Lakelyn Mae Stephens and McKenzie Stephens and their father, George Holder of Shelbyville; brothers, Tyler Whitworth and Gary Whitworth of both Woodbury; a sister, Nikki Whitworth of Woodbury; and several nieces and nephews.
Jessica was a playful, fun-loving person, and a caring mother. She enjoyed taking her girls camping and fishing. She also loved to teach them how to cook and bake. Just being outdoors in nature gave her a lot of peace and joy. She had a caring spirit, which translated well into her training as a certified nurse’s assistant. She took classes while she was in high school, so she could start working. She graduated from Cannon County High School in the Class of 2008. Right after graduating she went to work for the Woodbury Health and Rehabilitation Center for a couple years. She loved helping elderly people and continued to work in other nursing homes.
She had a strong will and determination about things she wanted. She felt she could overcome or do anything. Her faith in God and belief in Jesus were very strong. As her family struggles to deal with the loss we ask for prayers for strength, peace, and comfort. Hold on to those memories no one can take away.
Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 12-2 pm. Funeral services will follow in the Smith Funeral Home chapel at 2 pm. Bro. James McDonald will officiate.
