Jimmy Wayne Arnold

Jimmy Wayne Arnold, 63, died: Sunday, May 26, 2019 at his home. He was a resident of Woodbury and was a native of  Dekalb County. 
Survivors include his wife of 44 years:  Pamela Jo Arnold, children,  Jason Wayne Arnold and Jessica Hayes both of Woodbury, mother,  Juanita Cripps Arnold of Woodbury, 5 Grandchildren:  Linsey Arnold, Hannah Jo Foulk, Lacie Arnold, Haylee Foulk and Dakota Hayes all of Woodbury.
 
He was preceded in death by his father, Harrison Arnold; brothers:  Gregory Arnold, Ronnie Arnold & Roger Dale Arnold.
 
Jimmy was a member of the Baptist Church, a US Army veteran and a member of the American Legion.  He was an owner and operator truck driver.  His favorite thing was loving his grandchildren.
 
Siblings:  Ricky Arnold and Kathy Davis both of Woodbury.

Charles E. Brown

Mr. Charles E. “Charlie” Brown, 87, of Readyville passed from this life on May 24, 2019.  He was born on January 9, 1932.  He was the son of George Brown and Willie D. Alexander Brown. He was preceded in death by his father, George Brown; mother, Willie D. Brown, sisters, Lorell Brandon, Betty McBroom, Mary Brown, Margaret Dillard, and Dora Johnson and a brother, George Brown, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory sister, Katherine Ezell of Nashville; brother, Thomas Brown of Nashville; best friend Helen (Leo) Pleitez and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends.
 
Mr. Charlie was a hard-working farmer.  He was a retired veteran of the U S Air Force with 23 years’ service and had also served in the U S Army for a period of time.  Following his Air Force retirement, he came back to Readyville and bought his farm in 1963.  He worked at the VA Hospital in Murfreesboro for 40 years as a cook.  He retired from the VA and continued to farm.  He was an active member of the Woodbury Lions Club for many years.  He was also a devoted member of the Auburn Hills Church of Christ and the former Water Street Church of Christ.

Coy Lynn Parker

Mr. Coy Lynn Parker, 75, of Bradyville, TN passed away on May 23, 2019.  He was born on January 13, 1944 in Bradyville.  His parents were the late Houston Roosevelt Parker and Mary Isabell Reed Parker.  He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Tracey Todd; brothers, Kenneth Parker and Grady Parker; sister, Norma Simpson Vance; niece Brenda Parker; and a great nephew, Logan Parker. 
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Fletcher Parker of Bradyville; twin brother, Roy (Shirley) Parker of Woodbury; son-in-law, Jeffery Todd; grandchildren, Houston Chandler Todd and Addison Olivia Todd.
 
Mr. Coy was born, raised, and lived his whole life in Bradyville.  He graduated Woodbury Central High School in the Class of 1962.  He met and married the love of his life and they planned to celebrate 55 years of marriage on July 10th.  He retired from General Electric working for over 30 years.  He also spent about 10 years working for the CO-OP in Woodbury.  He loved being outdoors.  When he was in good health, he enjoyed hunting rabbits, raising beagles, planting a garden, and mowing the yard.  He and his twin brother shared a special bond and he loved Roy very much.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He had been teaching his grandson how to plant and raise a garden and looked forward to seeing him harvest vegetables this year.  His grandchildren called him Poppy and they enjoyed spending time together.  He was happy to sit and watch an old western, wrestling, or most kinds of sports when he wasn’t outside doing something.  He didn’t mind helping Mrs. Patsy with anything she needed, washing dishes, laundry, or anything else.

Donna Ann Gaither Fuqua

Donna Ann Gaither Fuqua, 57, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019 at St. Thomas Rutherford.  She was born in Rutherford Co. Survivors: 
 
She is survived by her husband, of 39 years,  Steve Fuqua of Woodbury; children, Jason (Jessica) Fuqua of Murfreesboro and Jessica (Justin) Parker of Bradyville; grandchildren, Shelby, Preston, and Jameson Fuqua, Wyatt and Willow Parker and brother, Donny Gaither of Woodbury.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam & Robbie Neely Gaither and brother, Danny Gaither.
 
Donna was a member of the Woodbury First Baptist Church where she was the Custodian.  She was also the Custodian for the Cannon Co. School System.  She worked at Westside, Woodbury Grammar and Woodland Schools.  She had previously worked for Bill Trail Motor Company.
 
Donna loved life even through this awful disease she was always making people laugh and feel better with her sweet smile, her wit and her infectious laugh.  She loved to cook, go to the beach and absolutely loved traveling to Disney.  Most of all, Donna loved her family and friends but especially her grandkids. 
 
Memorial Services will be 6 pm Tuesday, May 21, 2019 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Wade Campbell and Bro. Christie Lee Belcher

Christie Lee Belcher, age 37, of Woodbury passed away Friday, May 17, 2019 at Vanderbilt Hospital.  She was a native of Davidson Co. 
Survivors include her Father & Stepmother, Winford Nile “Freddy” Belcher & Sandy Belcher of Woodbury; Mom, Brenda Randolf Foster of Nashville; Children, Gage Cross & Valentine Batts both of Woodbury; Fiance, Charles Batts of Nashville; Sisters, Chloe Belcher of Morrison, Michaela Belcher, Holly Carter, Jaiden Harris & Stephanie Jones, all of Woodbury, Merri Rippetoe Carroll & Kimberly Howard, both of Nashville; and Grandparents, Gloria Lynn Kaylor of Bradyville, Donnie (Debbie) Kaylor of Nashville, & David Mayo of Woodbury.
 
Many aunts, uncles, & cousins also survive.
 
She was preceded in death by her mother, Beth Kaylor.
 
Christie was a kind soul, a warrior who fought with everything she had.  Her children were her world and she was an outstanding mother.  She loved her family and friends and put others before herself.  She loved God and her church.  She was a master barber at Uncle Classics Barber Shop in Nashville where she loved her clients and her job.  She was also a member of the Plainview Baptist Church.
 
Funeral Services will be 2 PM Tuesday, May 21, 2019 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Jonathan Womack officiating.  Interment will follow at Riverside Gardens Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be from 4 to 9 PM Monday, May 20, 2019.

Janice Sue McBrayer

Janice Sue “Susie” McBrayer, age 73, of Beechgrove passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at her home.  She was a native of Greenup Co., Kentucky. 
Survivors include her daughter, Andrea (Bill) Hester of Beechgrove; Grandsons, Marcus (Allison) Hester of Beechgrove and Ethan (Taylor) Hester of Vilseck, Germany; and Great Grandchildren, Brooks, Marlie, Macey, & Patrick Hester.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Richard McBrayer; Parents, Clifford & Anna Smith Madden; and Sisters, Virginia & Madlyn.
 
Ms. McBrayer was a member of the church of Christ and enjoyed quilting, painting, and spending time with her grandbabies.
 
Memorial Visitation will be from 2 to 4 PM Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Woodbury Funeral Home.

Elizabeth Joy Jernigan Mankin

Elizabeth Joy Jernigan Mankin, 83, passed away Sat., May 11, 2019 at the Webb House of McMinnville.  She was born in Rutherford Co. 
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin “Scooter” Mankin and Dorinda “Dodie” Mankin of Woodbury; son-in-law,  Russell Reed of Woodbury; grandchildren,  Casey and C.W. (Atheana) Reed, Wilder Mankin (Fiancée, Megan Deacher); great granddaughter,  Sadie Grace Reed.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Jernigan and Fannie Belle Youree Jernigan; her husband of 61 years, Clifton Wayne Mankin, Sr.; son, Clifton Wayne Mankin, Jr.; daughter, Denise Reed; and brothers, Ralph and Wayne Jernigan.
 
Ms. Mankin was a member of Elkins Church of Christ and was retired from the Department of Human Services.  She enjoyed riding horses, baking cakes and planting flowers.  Christmas time was something she loved as she always had at least one tree in every room, sometimes two or three.  Most of all, she adored her family and loved for them to spend time together. 
 
Funeral Services will be 2 pm Thursday May 16, 2019 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Dr. Earl Sutton and Bro. Jerry Burgess officiating.     Interment will follow in the Riverside Gardens Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be from 10 am until time of service Thursday.

Jennie Mae Hays Mullinax

Ms. Jennie Mae Hays Mullinax, age 95, of Woodbury passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019 at St. Thomas Stones River Hospital. She was a native of Cannon County.  
Survivors include her son & daughter-in-law, Jerry Wayne & Brenda Mullinax of Woodbury; Grandson & granddaughter-in-law, David & Angela Mullinax of Woodbury; Great Granddaughter, Laney Mullinax of Woodbury; Brother-in-law, J.D. Joines of Goodlettsville;  Sister-in-law, Gerri Mullinax of South Gate, MI; and several nieces and nephews. 
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Truman Mullinax; her parents, George Alton & Ida May Jennings Hays; two brothers; and eight sisters. 
 
Ms. Jennie Mae was a seamstress, retiring from Colonial Corporation, a homemaker, and her favorite pastime was quilting. She was a lifelong member of the Sycamore Baptist Church, but when she moved to Woodbury, she attended Dillon Street Baptist Church. 
 
Funeral Services will be 2 PM Wednesday, May 15, 2019 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Leonard Herman officiating. Interment will follow at Sycamore Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday, May 14, 2019 and until the time of service on Wednesday. 
 

Delmus Neal

Delmus Neal age 80 of Smithville, passed away Wednesday night, May 8, 2019 at Tennova HealthCare in Lebanon.  He was born May 12, 1938 to his parents, the late Floyd Neal and Edith L. Johnson Farless. 
He was a retired machinist, a Pentecostal and had a love for music and singing.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Doyle and Steve Neal.
 
Survivors include 2 daughters: Deborah (James) McKinney of Florida, Deanna Lindeman of Woodbury; Son: Jeff (Jeania) Cawthorn of Smithville; Grandchildren: Janna (Jacob) King, Karli Burns, Daxton Burt, Jade (Matthew) Smith, Leagh Cawthorn, Megan West Stewart, Courtney Cawthorn; 6 Great-Grandchildren: Landon, Korbin, Carter, Jonah, Jessa, Jacob; Sisters: Patsy (Jackie) Young, Pam Farless both of Smithville; Several nieces and nephews; Special friend: Janet Neal of Smithville.  
 
Funeral services for Mr. Neal will be held 11:AM Tuesday May 14, 2019 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros. Toy Lawson and Clayton Neal officiating and burial to follow in the Center Hill Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be Monday 3:PM until 8:PM and Tuesday 9:AM until the time of service at 11:AM.   In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses, in memory of Delmus.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. 
 

Charles Don Barr

Charles Don Barr of Bradyville, age 74 passed away on May 6, 2019. He was born on February 9, 1945 in Nashville, Tennessee. 
He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Barr; mother and step-father, Lucille (Harris) & Harry B. Allen.
 
Charles served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War and retired from Bridgestone Firestone.
 
He is Survived by his wife of 34 years, Brenda Gail Stubblefield Barr of Bradyville; step-son, Marcus Randale Bigbie, Jr.; sister, Sherry (John) Edmondson of Nashville; nephews, Erik Edmondson and Alan Edmondson; and loyal dog, Chloe .
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019 from the Chapel of Mount Olivet Funeral Home with Interment to follow in the Historic Mount Olivet Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.
