The 3rd Annual Cannon County Cattlemen’s Association Field Day was held at the MTSU Farm on September 29th. The Middle Tennessee State University Ag Department hosted the event at their farm located at 3211 Guy James Road, Lascassas, Tn. The Field Day included a Showmanship Clinic for youth conducted by local beef producer David Parker assisted by Katlyn and Kathryn Trail, tour of the state-of-art MTSU Dairy, rope halter workshop which included rope provided by CCCA for participants to make their very own rope halter, delicious chocolate milk which was courtesy of the MTSU Dairy and weed identification session which included 25 potted and labeled weeds which participants could learn their weeds and methods of controlling them in their pastures. The first step of controlling weeds is to accurately identify the target.The CCCA Board of Directors appreciates the attendance and support of businesses and producers throughout Cannon County.
