The Auburntown City Council met October 2, 2012 at 6:00 PM for their regular monthly meeting. Mayor, Roger Turney and all councilpersons were present except Rita Davis and Beth Hancock. The previous month of September minutes were approved as presented without corrections or change.
The Financial report was presented in written form, reviewed and approved without correction. The balance of funds on deposit as of September 30th was $38,840.29.
The Mayor announce that he and the Fire Chief was now on a committee mandated by the State to be known as the, “Hazard Mitigation Committee”. Each will receive training provided by the state and must have nine additional hrs. of training each year. This committee will be composed of members from the County and the two incorporated cities therein. Additional information is expected to be forthcoming as the committee meets and begins to carry out its mandated responsibilities.
The Mayor asked the Councilpersons and all people in this area to join him in prayer for Franz Walkup who has given so much to maintain our freedom. He is a soldier who is now undergoing treatment and rehabilitation for serious injuries received in Afghanistan.
