Lloyd Wade Bowen, 84, passed away at his home in Cleveland, Tn. with his daughter by his side. A native of Cannon Co., he was the son of the late Claude Thomas Bowen and Vassie Lee Barrett Bowen.
He is survived by his daughter, Megan Bowen of Cleveland; 3 grandchildren, Jackson Abood, Reese Morrison and Roderick Morrison all of Cleveland; daughter Melissa Luker-Uehling of Idaho along with her children and grandchildren; 3 sisters, Claudette Alexander of Readyville, Lynn Oldham of Murfreesboro and Kay Bowen of Gilford, Ontario, Canada. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by his identical twin brother, Boyd Bowen.
Lloyd and Boyd graduated in 1956 from Woodbury Central High School and together enlisted in the United States Air Force. In the USAF he was an aircraft mechanic, which allowed him to travel the world going to different Air Force bases across the United States and in England. Decades later retiring as a Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force Reserves. Lloyd enjoyed gardening, working in his yard, socializing with community members, Tennessee football and grilling. Above all, family was most important to him. Spending time and making memories with them is what mattered most.
Memorial visitation will begin Friday, March 25, 2022 from 12 noon until 2 pm with memorial services to follow at 2 pm in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Herb Alsup officiating. Interment will follow with military honors in Riverside Cemetery, Woodbury, Tn.
